Delfina

I attended the first ever Food and Farm Film Festival in San Francisco where I was able to watch several short and long films related to food. Here is one of the ironically hilarious short films I saw: http://vimeo.com/33329117

Being tantalized by shots of delicious Italian cuisine, especially from the film Trattoria, I felt it was only appropriate to get some Italian food after watching another Italian film about a Sheppard from Milan. Fortunately, one of the best pizzerias in the city, Delfina, was just a few blocks away. Craving salty anchovies and capers, we decided to order the cheeseless pizza Napoletana. We got our cheese fix in the appetizer, however, which was a pecorino and fava beans dish sprinkled on top of some slightly grilled crostini. This pecorino (sheep) cheese was particularly delicious because it was the perfect balance of salty and sweet. I normally make my own pizza from sratch, but if I were to go out to eat pizza again, Delfina’s thin-crusted, Italian style pizza would certainly be near the top of the list.
